A New Bootginning

Guardian, at its core, is people helping people, and our employees do their best to live it out every day. One wonderful story of connection and service comes from a member who came in to get a loan for a pair of steel-toed boots.

 

The member had been going through difficult financial times and found themselves out of work for a length of time. They were finally available to land a job on a construction site, and one of the requirements was a pair of safety boots. The member came in and explained their situation and their need for a loan for a pair of shoes so they could start their new job and work towards turning around their financial situation.  

 

When the member came in, he explained that he had the exact shoes on hold at a shop in town, and in the midst of him filling out his paperwork, the staff went to the shop and purchased the shoes for the member, bringing them back to a very thankful member. The whole scene in the branch was very emotional and truly a wonderful moment of connection and people helping people.
